Operation and Facility
We are located 452 Rivera Aulet Avenue, Arecibo, PR, 00612. Currently count with two
4 meters visual acuity lanes. One in the first floor and the other in the second floor. We
have an elevator for accessibility of disabled patients. We have an onsite research
pharmacy and laboratory equipped with centrifuge, sub-zero freezers (-40 C and -90C)
and locked investigational product fridge. A Class II, Type A Laminar Flow Biological
Safety Cabinet is installed in our facility for constitution of investigational products if
required. We are located in less than 1 mile from the main hospital in our city.
Our personnel is composed by dedicated research coordinators, certified laboratory
technician, certified nurses, refractive visual acuity testers certified by Touchstone, Klinitrials and EMMES, and photographers certified by the Duke Central Reading
Center, Excelsior, and Parexel. Duke and Parexel has also certified our Heidelberg SD OCT + FA and AutoFlouresence, a Zeiss fundus camera, and an
Optos California Camera with FA. We also have a certified EKG machines for our
protocols. We have experience working with CROs such as Parexel, Novartis, and
IQVIA and also using several central IRBs such as Quorum IRB, Western IRB, Sterling
IRB, Copernicus IRB, Aspire IRB, and Schulman IRB as well.
